Sophia Montessori Academy to Close at the End of the 2025–2026 School Year

With heavy hearts, the Board of Directors of Sophia Montessori Academy has decided that at the conclusion of this academic year (2025–2026), Sophia Montessori Academy will cease operations and close.

This decision has been made through much prayer and discernment. We recognize how painful this news is, and we are deeply grateful to every family, staff member, and supporter who has helped make Sophia Montessori Academy a place of joy, formation, and community. Sophia Montessori Academy has been a space set apart — one that has fostered meaningful relationships and beautiful encounters for children and families alike.

While Sophia Montessori Academy is in a financial position to complete the current academic year, the Board has determined that operating beyond this year will not be feasible. Due to low enrollment, uncertainty in future leadership, and the unexpected need to relocate, there are too many unstable circumstances to responsibly move forward.

Over many months, the Board and staff have explored every possible option to continue. Unfortunately, continuing beyond this year would not be a prudent decision and would place additional strain on families, staff, and the broader community.

We remain profoundly grateful for what Sophia Montessori Academy has become and for the countless moments of goodness it has offered to children and families. We trust that the Lord brings good out of all things, even when we cannot yet see the full picture. Please know that we are praying for our community, and we ask that you join us in praying that the closing of Sophia Montessori Academy may be marked by peace, gratitude, and a joyful remembrance of all that has been given.

May the remainder of this academic year be a celebration of the gift Sophia Montessori Academy has been to this community.
