Introducing Our New Head of School

As many of you know, our beloved Executive Director, Ms. Pauline Meert, will be stepping down at the end of this school year. We express our deepest gratitude for all that she has done. As one of the founders of Sophia Montessori, Ms. Pauline has poured her heart and soul into building this sacred space where our children grow in faith, wisdom, and joy. She is deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Her legacy will continue to shape everything we do, and we know she will remain forever a part of the Sophia community.

As we look ahead to a new chapter in our school’s journey, we are excited to announce we have hired our new head of school, Mr. Scott Blackwood.

Mr. Blackwood comes to us with a very strong background in education and a deep love and respect for the Montessori method. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education, and an AMI Montessori Director’s Certificate. He has spent the past two years as Director of St. Monica’s Montessori in Fargo, ND, and prior to that, taught music for 10 years in Catholic schools. And who knew—he’s also an accomplished ski and snowboard instructor! We can’t wait to welcome him into our beautiful community.
